The challenge

Where they started

Mid States had built a strong reputation over decades of word of mouth, but its digital presence wasn’t keeping up. Paid search produced clicks without a dependable flow of calls and quote requests.

The website ran on a hosted platform that limited some standard SEO tools. And because Mid States serves a 150–200 mile radius, it needed to show up in dozens of smaller communities, not just Sioux Falls.

What we did

The plan

01

Rebuilt paid search around intent, not volume

We restructured Google Ads around the services Mid States wants to sell — commercial AV installation, conference and huddle rooms, audio systems — and paired a focused Search campaign with Performance Max for awareness and retargeting. Every call, quote request, service ticket and contact form is tracked, so budget follows real leads.

02

Made the existing website work harder

Instead of rebuilding, we restructured navigation, wrote location- and service-specific page titles and descriptions, cleaned up pages that diluted the site, and added regional signals for cities across three states.

03

Built a hyper-local content engine

Project spotlights tie each install to a city, a project type and the brands used — the signals that help Google and AI search tools connect Mid States to searches across its service area.

04

Kept the brand visible between searches

A steady, low-cost Meta program keeps Mid States in front of facility managers, church leaders and school administrators across the region.

The results

What changed

  • Tracked leads from ads grew from 55 in 2024 to 133 in 2025, while cost per lead fell 42%.
  • Ad-driven phone calls more than doubled, from about 7 a month in 2024 to nearly 16 a month in 2026.
  • September and October 2026 were the best stretch on record, with 37 conversions.
  • #1 for every branded search and top-five rankings in Minneapolis for huddle room installation and AV services.
  • Top-five for regional commercial searches like “commercial audio video South Dakota.”
  • More than 2.1 million Meta impressions across the region.
  • New visitors arriving from AI assistants such as ChatGPT.
